As part of a suite of new measures being rolled out by the government, President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Thursday announced that all public sector workers will earn no less than $100,000 monthly by the end of 2025.
The Head of State said this as he made a special address to the 12th Parliament of Guyana, at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Liliendaal, Georgetown.
This, essentially, means that the minimum public sector wage will be increased to $100,000.
And the President said this salary adjustment joins other measures the government has already pursued to adjust salaries for various categories of workers.
“This is how we reduce equity in the society,” the President declared, to resounding applause.
