Mr. Nandlall has been a Parliamentarian in Guyana continuously since 2006 and previously served as the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of Guyana from 2011 to 2015. He is the founder of the law firm Mohabir A. Nandlall and Associates located at 217 South Road, Lacytown, Georgetown from where he operated a thriving legal practice specialising in Constitutional, Public, Land and Commercial Law. Over the past 25 years, in the legal profession, he has appeared both in private practice and as Attorney General in almost every leading Constitutional, Public Law and Election related cases in Guyana, most of which have culminated at the Caribbean Court of Justice. The Hon. Nandlall is also the Secretary of the Defence Board of Guyana; Chairman of the Guyana Law Revision Commission; Chairman of the Standing Committee on Constitutional Reform of the Twelfth Parliament of Guyana; a member of the Constitutional Reform Commission of Guyana; Chairman of Guyana’s AML/CFT/CPF National Coordinating Committee and an Executive Member of the Council of Legal Education of the West Indies.
The First Legal Conference on Criminal Justice Reform - Advancing the Needham’s Point Declaration is hosted by the Government of Guyana through the Chambers of the Attorney General & Ministry of Legal Affairs in collaboration with the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) Academy for Law under the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)-funded Support for the Criminal Justice System (SCJS) Programme.
