The Advice and Litigation Department is part of the Attorney General's Chambers and is headed by the Solicitor-General
The Advice and Litigation Department tenders legal advice to all Government Ministries/Agencies on varied matters, including tort contract and constitutional issues. Law Officers of the Department also represents the State in court in matters brought by and against the State.
The function of the Advice and Litigation Department is to competently defend the State in all Civil Litigation instituted against its Ministries, Department and Agencies. Officers of the Department also represent the Honourable Attorney General on various State Boards and Committees.
