The Hon. Mohabir Anil Nandlall, SC, MP, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs earlier visited ongoing construction works at the Deeds and Commercial Registries Authority Building at Suddie, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon - Supenaam).
Upon completion, the four storey building will house the operations of the Deeds and Commercial Registries, and living quarters for staff. The building will be equipped with an elevator, parking facilities and a storage vaults for documents.
The contract for the construction of the building was awarded in October 2022 in the sum of $447.8 million for a duration of 12 months. Despite minor delays due to inclement weather and supply chain issues, the project is slated to be completed on time.
The Hon. Attorney General was accompanied by Vilma De Silva, Regional Chairperson; Humace Oodit, Regional Vice-Chairman; Azeena Baksh, Registrar of Deeds, Kawan Suchit, Regional Engineer, the contractor and other staff of the Registry.
